UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf while addressing the convention said that to ensure long term progress we have to narrow down the gap in industry-academic linkages. Engineers should come up with low-cost agro-technology for small farms so that per-acre production can be increased manifold.
Value addition in the agriculture and food sector is the need of the hour in order to compete with the rest of the world. Citing the example of China he said that there the agriculture department regulates agro-zoning and implementation of agricultural reforms
