Pakistan and China to initiate JVs to increase exports and production

Special Adviser to the PM on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood while talking to the media has said that China and Pakistan have agreed on some proposals for Joint Ventures (JVs) between Chinese and Pakistani companies to increase production and exports from Pakistan.

He said that the (JVs) would   be more beneficial for Pakistan because of its export potential not only to China but all over the world. He further said that both sides want to increase investment and bilateral trade activities between the two countries and are reviewing proposals in this regard.

The joint ventures with the Chinese companies would allow Pakistan to have improved technology and enhanced capacity for production and exports. In value terms Pakistan’s exports have increased 2.2 percent in July-Jan period of this fiscal year.

Razaq Dawood also revealed that negotiations are underway to temporarily open Khunjrab border to release around around 186 containers stuck at the border.
