Hiring process for advisory services by Ministry of Railways

Railways Ministry has completed the process for hiring of advisory services for its two Karachi-based projects namely Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) and Railway Freight Corridor (RFC) from Karachi Port Trust (KPT) to Pipri.

Interestingly, both these projects are not listed in the Railways Division. As many as 41 ongoing and new schemes listed in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the Federal Government for financial year 2020-21.

Railways 18 and 23 ongoing schemes are listed in the PSDP which are estimated to Rs 1377677.614 million including foreign aid of Rs 1066323.020 million against which  total expenditure of Rs 98797.778 million was reported to have  been incurred by end June 2020 and Rs 44000.000 million including foreign aid of only Rs 500.000 has been provided for implementation of both old and new development projects in a phased manner during ongoing financial year 2020-21.

The Railways had  incurred an expenditure of Rs 8.3 billion against an allocation of Rs 12.2 billion for its 26 schemes giving utilization of 68 per cent during financial year 2019-20.
