First EV charging station to be inaugurated in Islamabad

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has revealed that the first Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station will be installed in the Federal Capital very soon. The EV charging station is being set up by Attock Oil at Jinnah avenue Islamabad.

He said “Extremely excited to see launching of first Electric Car Charging Station in Islamabad #AttockOil is opening flagship EV charging facility at Jinnah Avenue Islamabad, This was another target of @Ministry of ST to encourage E vehicles as future transportation.”

When asked about the production of Electric vehicles in Pakistan he said “We already have Car Production unit and First production is expected later this year.”

Since the approval of EV policy of the country, companies are now showing interest in developing the EV infrastructure in the country. The government plans to make 30% vehicle of the country running on EV by 2030.

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier this year Gas and Oil Company Limited (GO) installed an EV charging station near Emporium Mall Lahore.
