With an estimated cost of Rs. 85.00 billion, the 300 Mega Watt Power project is subjected to be set up on Kunhar River in Mansehra district under the assistance of Asian Development Bank. A ground breaking ceremony of the 300 megawatt Balakot Hydro Power Project is expected to be performed by Prime Minister, Imran Khan. KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed the authorities of Energy and Power Department to finalize all preparations and arrangements. The decision has been penned down in review meeting to sort out the preparations and arrangements of Hydro Power Project at Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The meeting was enlightened by advisor to Chief Minister for Energy and Power Himayat Ullah Khan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary Energy and Power Zubair Khan, Chief Executive Officer PEDO and other respective establishment. The briefing about the progress being made so far was narrated to the Chief Minister. As the contract of project had been awarded, contract agreement would soon be signed with the contractor.
