Production of farm tractors in the country declined by as much as 46.11 per cent during the just concluded financial year 2022-23 as compared to the previous year.
During financial year 2022-23, 31726 units were produced against the production of 58880 units during the previous year 2021-22.
According to the information available from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), during the last fiscal year, production of trucks also witnessed a decreasing trend as it went down to 3072 units from 5659 units indicating a decline of 45.71 percent. Furthermore, the production of Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) and Jeeps also went down by 19.58 per cent to 31333 units during the period under report here from 44421 units produced during the previous year 2021-22.
Production of passenger cars also declined to 101984 units during last financial year against the production of 226433 units the previous year.
Manufacturing of motorcycles and three wheelers also went down to 1188087 units from 1826467 units showing a decrease of 34.95 percent during the last two financial years respectively. However, the production of buses only witnessed a marginal increase of 6.05 per cent from 661 units in 2021-22 to 701 units during fiscal year 2022-23.
