Exclusive Interview with Mr. Rashid Iqbal, Director
Sky Nexus was established with the vision of introducing world-class Building Management Systems and smart automation solutions in Pakistan, aiming to help organizations achieve greater efficiency, energy savings, and operational control through advanced technology. Since its inception, the company has focused on serving commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors with modern solutions tailored to local market needs. In an interview with Engineering Post, Rashid Iqbal, Country Sales Manager, shared the company’s progress over the past year and highlighted its growing role in transforming Pakistan’s building automation landscape.
Reflecting on the completion of one successful year, Rashid Iqbal said the company had focused extensively on creating awareness and implementing modern building management solutions across key sectors of Pakistan. “Our motto from day one was to properly introduce Building Management Systems in Pakistan. Many organizations were unaware of how powerful these systems can be in reducing energy consumption and simplifying building operations,” he said.
He explained that BMS is not just about automation but about giving complete control of a facility to its management. “A modern building has multiple systems running simultaneously, air conditioning, lighting, security, power management, fire safety and more. Through an efficient BMS platform, all these operations can be monitored and controlled from one central point. This saves time, lowers operational costs, and improves efficiency.”
According to him, the response from the market has been highly encouraging. Sky Nexus is currently working with pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, banks, and various industrial sectors where operational continuity and energy efficiency are critical. “These sectors understand the value of intelligent systems because even a minor disruption can create significant losses. Our solutions help them maintain control, stability, and performance,” he added.
Discussing the company’s broader portfolio, Rashid Iqbal noted that Sky Nexus has moved beyond conventional HVAC controls and is now introducing complete IBMS solutions in Pakistan. “In addition to HVAC, we are providing Integrated Building Management Systems that include CCTV surveillance, access control, power monitoring, and energy conservation solutions.
He further revealed that the company is working with the latest EBO 7 software, supported by a team of certified engineers trained to international standards. “Technology is only as effective as the people implementing it. That is why we have invested heavily in developing certified engineers who can design, install, and manage sophisticated automation systems using EBO 7 software,” he said.
One of the distinguishing features of Sky Nexus, according to Rashid Iqbal, is its consultative approach. Instead of limiting services to equipment supply and installation, the company also conducts comprehensive energy audits for buildings and facilities.
He also highlighted the company’s strong partnership with Schneider Electric, one of the world’s most respected names in automation and energy management. “Our front-end software and the majority of our equipment are provided by Schneider Electric. This gives our clients confidence that they are receiving internationally trusted technology with proven reliability and performance,” he explained.
At the same time, he emphasized the importance of flexibility in delivering complete solutions. “There are certain components that Schneider does not manufacture, such as flow meters and specific air devices. For these requirements, we collaborate with other renowned global brands including Diehl Metering and Danfoss. Our goal is always to provide the best possible solution without compromise.”
