Pakistan’s business-friendly measures praised by IMF

International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its recent report “Economic Governance Reforms to Support Inclusive Growth” has said  that  Pakistan has  reduced  the period for obtaining for obtaining permits  required for construction through reforms of  the business laws.

“Pakistan is one of the countries in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia where time period has been reduced  because of the measures taken for the development of construction sector”

The IMF in its report as also said that digitalization and e-services initiatives could help improve the quality of services  by limiting  individual decisions whereas incentives offered can also help improve performance.

The report pointedly stated that Pakistan  has increased tax revenues  by giving incentives  to tax collectors, developing countries  over the past decade have  take a number of steps to improve business environment and regulations,  which  have resultantly increased  the provision of business facilities.
