Founded as one of Pakistan’s leading suppliers of premium electrical solutions, Mubashar Electric has played a pioneering role in introducing internationally renowned electrical brands to the local market. Through its unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and customer confidence, the company has earned a strong reputation within Pakistan’s electrical industry. Today, as global supply chains continue to face unprecedented disruptions, the company is reinforcing its commitment to customers by investing in alternative import strategies to ensure uninterrupted product availability. In an exclusive interview with Engineering Post, Mubashar Shahid, Director, Mubashar Electric, discussed the company’s journey, the remarkable success of Legrand in Pakistan.
Recalling the company’s early journey, Mubashar Shahid explained that Mubashar Electric introduced the French electrical brand Legrand to Pakistan in 1989, at a time when international electrical products had only a limited presence in the country. He said the initiative required more than simply importing products; it demanded building trust among consultants, contractors, and end users. “It was not just about introducing a product; it was about creating a market for it,” he remarked.
Over the years, Mubashar Electric established itself as the principal distributor of Legrand in Pakistan by consistently delivering genuine products backed by technical expertise and dependable after-sales support. According to Mubashar Shahid, the company’s long-term approach enabled Legrand to become one of the country’s most trusted electrical brands. “Trust is not built overnight. It comes through consistent performance, technical excellence, and standing by customers whenever they need support,” he said.
A significant milestone in Legrand’s growth came when the brand received approvals from major government departments, private organizations, and leading consultants. These endorsements greatly strengthened its credibility and expanded its use in commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across Pakistan. “Approvals from major institutions reflect confidence in the quality, reliability, and safety of our products,” Mubashar Shahid noted.
Discussing the current business environment, he acknowledged that global geopolitical tensions and regional conflicts have disrupted international supply chains. However, he emphasized that Mubashar Electric has adopted a proactive strategy to ensure customers continue receiving products without delay. The company is maintaining substantial inventory levels while also using alternative and more expensive import routes to keep supplies flowing during these uncertain times. “Our priority is to ensure that our customers never face interruptions. Even if it means absorbing higher logistics costs or arranging air shipments, we remain committed to timely deliveries,” he said.
He further revealed that Legrand sales have witnessed significant growth in recent months, driven by consistent product availability and increasing customer confidence. “Our sales are growing rapidly, and we are confident this momentum will continue as customers increasingly value reliability and uninterrupted supply,” he stated.
Highlighting another important achievement, Mubashar Shahid said the company’s sustained efforts against counterfeit electrical products have yielded positive results. Working alongside relevant government authorities, Mubashar Electric helped curb the circulation of fake electrical products in the market, significantly improving customer safety and protecting the integrity of genuine brands. “This is not only a victory for our company but also for the entire electrical industry and, most importantly, for consumer safety,” he concluded.
