LNG Scam inquiry to be finalized by NAB

Islamabad:  In the second week of September The Chief justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar Hearing the suo motu on Liquefied natural Gas (LNG) said that as this matter was related to corruption so NAB should handle it. He directed NAB officials to expedite inquiry and submit its report in a sealed envelope along with the LNG agreement.

Asad Kharal, Chairman of Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIJ) who is also the petitioner and on whose letter CJ had taken suo motu said that NAB is already looking into the matter.

The court also summoned Prosecutor General NAB Justice Asghar Haider (retd) who appeared before a three Judge bench and informed them that the investigation into the matter was 80% complete. He assured the court that there was substance in it.
