Founded as one of Pakistan’s leading suppliers of quality electrical solutions, Mubashar Electric has played a pivotal role in introducing internationally trusted brands to the local market. Through its commitment to innovation, reliability, and customer confidence, the company has built a strong reputation in the electrical industry. In an exclusive interview with Engineering Post, Mubashar Shahid, Director Mubashar Electric, shared the company’s journey, its participation in the IEEEP Expo, and the growing success of Legrand products in Pakistan.
Speaking about the company’s presence at the IEEEP Expo, Mubashar Shahid said the event provides an excellent platform to connect with industry stakeholders and showcase world-class electrical technologies. “Our participation in the IEEEP Expo is aimed at promoting Legrand, a product known globally for its superior quality and innovation. We are proud to present it to the world and to Pakistan’s engineering community,” he said. According to him, such exhibitions are vital for demonstrating modern solutions and highlighting the standards that leading international brands bring to the market.
Mubashar Shahid explained that Mubashar Electric introduced Legrand, the globally recognized French electrical brand, to Pakistan in 1989. At that time, international electrical brands had only a limited presence in the country, making the task both challenging and visionary. He recalled that entering the market was not simply about importing products but about building confidence among customers, consultants, and contractors. “It was not just about introducing a product; it was about creating a market for it,” he remarked.
Over the years, Mubashar Electric established itself as the main distributor of Legrand in Pakistan and worked consistently to strengthen the brand’s reputation. Through dependable quality assurance, professional technical support, and close engagement with consultants and contractors, the company gradually secured Legrand’s place among the most trusted names in the electrical sector. Mubashar Shahid noted that the journey required patience and long-term commitment. “Trust is not built overnight. It comes through consistent performance, technical excellence, and standing by customers whenever they need support,” he said.
A major turning point for Legrand in Pakistan came when the brand secured approvals from key government departments, private organizations, and leading consultants. These endorsements significantly improved the brand’s credibility and expanded its use in large-scale commercial and industrial projects across the country. Mubashar Shahid said that such recognition was earned through strict compliance with technical requirements and proven field performance. “Approvals from major institutions reflect confidence in the quality and safety of our products,” he added.
Discussing present market conditions, Mubashar Shahid acknowledged that ongoing global and regional tensions have created supply chain challenges. However, he emphasized that Mubashar Electric has successfully managed these difficulties through strong planning and large inventory levels. “There are challenges, but we have handled them by maintaining high stocks. If needed, we also arrange airlifting of products to ensure uninterrupted supply,” he said.
He further shared that Legrand sales have risen sharply in recent months, supported by product availability and growing market confidence. According to him, the company is now witnessing higher volumes and a stronger market share. “Our sales are increasing rapidly, and we are very optimistic about even better results in the future,” he stated.
Mubashar Shahid also highlighted the company’s efforts against counterfeit electrical products. He said that after consistent efforts by Mubashar Electric, government agencies took action against those dealing in fake products, resulting in a significant reduction in counterfeit trade. “This is an important victory for the industry and for customer safety,” he concluded.
