Iran pursues gas Pipeline

Islamabad: In the Second week of September Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Hooonardost and Federal Minister for Petroleum and natural resources Ghulam Sarwar khan met in Islamabad. The Iranian ambassador extended an invitation to the Minister to visit Iran after congratulating him on assumption of responsibilities in the new government.

The Ambassador said that Iran Pakistan gas pipeline will be a game changer for the religion and informed the minister that other countries are willing to cooperate in construction of gas pipeline.

The Minister acknowledged the cooperation offered by Iran in the areas of Electricity supply to coastal areas. He stressed on the importance of cooperation and investment in the areas of energy and petroleum. Both the countries agreed to enhance bilateral trades

The Minister assured that “Pakistan (is) fully committed to implement IP gas pipeline project without any foreign pressure.”

The Minister and the ambassador agreed to have a meeting of working group on IP gas pipeline project before the minister’s visit to Iran.
