In a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s engineering and manufacturing sector, Haseen Habib Corporation (Pvt) Ltd has successfully developed the country’s first locally manufactured advanced anti-riot vehicle equipped with a high-pressure water cannon system. The company has secured a contract for the supply of two anti-riot vehicles, with the first unit now fully completed and ready for delivery, marking a significant milestone in indigenous security equipment production.
Managing Director, Aamir Ata Barry described the development as “another success and a first for Pakistan,” highlighting the project as a major breakthrough for the company and the country’s industrial capabilities.
According to the company, the project required additional development time due to the complexity involved in designing and manufacturing a highly specialized vehicle that meets modern operational requirements.
“As this is the first unit of its kind manufactured in Pakistan at such an advanced level, the development took longer than initially expected. However, Alhamdulillah, the project is now complete and two units have been delivered so far,” Barry said.
He expressed gratitude to the engineering teams and all stakeholders who contributed to the project’s successful completion, adding that the achievement is expected to create a new and sustainable revenue stream within the company’s expanding product portfolio.
Anti-riot vehicles are specially designed security platforms equipped with high-pressure water cannons used by law enforcement agencies to manage crowds and control civil unrest through non-lethal means. Industry experts believe the successful local manufacturing of such specialized vehicles could reduce dependence on imports, strengthen Pakistan’s defense-related industrial base, and open new opportunities for exports in regional markets.
