Gwadar Port gets Early Warning System Equipment

Gwadar Port has received early warning system in the wake of Pakistan’s iron brother and time-tested neighbor China’s unflinching commitment to continue helping Pakistan mitigate adverse detrimental impacts of national disasters like catastrophic flood, torrential rain as well as metrological hazards causing losses to industrial and other economy boosting sectors from time to time.

According to the reports, after the installation of the provided equipment and its functioning Pakistan Met at the Gwadar Port, next likely beneficiary arrears in Balochistan provinces will be Jiwani and Turbat.

China Metrological Administration has doled out the equipment to the Pakistan Metrological Department. The equipment provided includes the establishment of one mobile vertical observation system, one Beiden Navigation Sounding System and three automatic weather stations (AWs) along with two backup AWs and a large screen.

Meteorological officers from China and Pakistan had held talks in Beijing (China) for deepening of the cooperation in meteorological science and technology.

Reports further said that Pakistan Meteorological Department and China Meteorological Administration will continue taking mutually discussed and agreed measures for strengthening cooperation in the fields of monitoring forecasting, hydrology and communication, research and training.

It may be mentioned here that both China and Pakistan are important members of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The bilateral cooperation the two countries, under the overall framework of great game changer China -Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was of vital significance for meteorological development in Asia.
