FPCCI & PBIT Inks MoU

The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) inked a Memorandum of Understanding on 19th Dec2016 to pledge a closer working relationship between the two institutions and for the promotion of trade activities. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on behalf of the FPCCI, Regional Chairman and Vice President, Mian Rehman Aziz and Muhammad Haroon Shaukat, CEO Punjab Board of Investment & Trade.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Haroon Shaukat, CEO Punjab Board of Investment & Trade said we are looking forward to set a frame work with FPCCI for trade stimulation and joining hands of each other to make a ground for progressive economic growth. CPEC is a big is a collection of projects of amounting 46 billion US Dollars mainly focused on four pillars Gwadar port, communication infrastructure, energy infrastructure and industrial zones.There is still no proper industrial plan appears to capture investment of CPEC while a lot of investment is being made in infrastructure and energy sector under China Pakistan Economic Corridor, (CPEC). He said business community should up raised their sectors for industrial Joint Venture to cater the opportunities of CPEC.
Mian Rehman Aziz Regional Chairman and Vice President, emphasized over the objectives of PBIT to facilitating new and existing businesses; creating a mutually beneficial business environment and said unfortunately there is lack of information being disseminated to the business community. He stressed that FPCCI and other Chambers of Punjab must be taken in to loop while any foreign delegation is visiting Pakistan or our delegation is visiting abroad for trade promotion. The Chairman underlined the importance of industrial estates and said Rahim Yar Khan is very suitable and ready for industrial estate and needs serious consideration of high ups.
In the end, FPCCI crest was presented to Muhammad Haroon Shaukat, CEO Punjab Board of Investment & Trade the by Mian Rehman Aziz Chan, Vice President & Regional Chairman FPCCI.
