Crescent Corp and Honeywell Supplies SOLSTICE® N40 (R-448A) to Metro Supermarket in Multan

Crescent Corporation is leading the market by introducing latest energy efficient solutions in Pakistan. The supply of Honeywell Refrigerant N40 to Metro Pakistan makes Crescent Corporation the first company in Pakistan to introduce, import and supply the latest refrigerants in the country.
Under the Kigali amendment of Montreal Protocol, countries committed to cut the production and consumption of HFCs by more than 80 percent over the next 30 years. Pakistan is one of the signatories of the Protocol and have been taking measures to cut the consumption of HFCs.
Currently, R404a has been widely used in Pakistan for all Low and Medium Temp refrigeration applications. Crescent Corporation is a major importer and supplier of R404a to almost all supermarkets and Refrigeration applications. Metro, a global supermarket, is aware of the major impact of R-404A refrigerant on its carbon footprint and decided to go for Green Store for their latest project in Multan. Crescent Corporation pitched the idea of Honeywell Solstice® N40 (R-448A) which was adopted by Metro.
The superior energy efficiency of Honeywell Solstice® N40 (R-448A) makes it a clear winner compared to R-404A; in addition to energy efficiency, the GWP (global warming potential) is more than two-thirds lower than that of R404a. It is a nonflammable (ASHRAE A1) replacement for R-404A or R-22 in supermarket and commercial refrigeration applications. A key feature of Solstice N40, is its reduced compressor discharge temperature at both medium- and low-temperature conditions, helping to further minimize application and retrofit costs. Solstice N40 has 5-10% higher energy efficiency than R-404A. Its GWP of 1387 (GWP rev 4th IPCC) is 65% lower than R-404A
Honeywell Solstice® N40 (R-448A) is being supplied to new installation as well as in the retrofits of older systems running with HFCs (R404a) and HCFCs (R22) across the globe. Many supermarket chains like Tesco, Makro, ASDA, Carrefour etc. are improving Energy Efficiency and Reducing Environmental Impact by running Solstice® N40. Honeywell has been in the forefronts of developing new low GWP refrigerants and has just started supplying Solstice® L40X (R-455A). Solstice® L40X has a GWP of 148 in comparison with 3922 and 1387 of R404A and Solstice® N40 respectively.
