Corporate leaders highlight HR importance in modern organizations

HR Metrics organised a launching ceremony of the Dr Ishrat Husain Award combined with CEOs’ dialogue on “Strategic expectations from HR leaders in the organizations”. Highlighting the importance of human resource management, corporate leaders said HR holds strategic importance in modern business organisations.

In his remarks, chairman Acuman Pakistan Limited Zaffar A Khan said HR has a seat on leadership table as it evolves strategic depth in the organisation.

“For organisations to be governed, there should be a proper HR management,” he said.

He advised the HR leaders to go out in the field to meet the people for maintaining HR system.

“HR drives the organizations,” he said, adding that CEO’s of companies are now looking toward HR professionals.

Nadeem Hussain, Founder and Coach at Planet N Group of Companies shed light on importance of right man at right time for right job.

He said HR becomes increasingly important in the organisations.

CEO Standard Chartered Bank Shazad Dada said that people were the biggest asset in any organisation and HR played pivotal role in their success. “It’s people, who drives the organisations and HR implements the company’s vision,” he added.

Nadeem Elahi, President American Business Council of Pakistan, said that managing the talent was key to success for the organizations.

He said conducive policies should be introduced to retain good human resource in organisations. Chief HR Allied Bank Ltd Shagique Uqaili urged the need for succession plan in organisations, saying that without the support of management HR could not work effectively.

Honorary Consul General of Finland Sadia Khan spoke about diversity in HR professionals. She said respect and trust on human resource are imperative for application of policies in organisations.

Ex CEO Gillete Pakistan Saad Amanullah Khan said HR carries out leadership assessment in organisations.

He said HR manager should be considered amongst the top management of organisation. Zahid Ali Mubarik, CEO HR Metrics also spoke.
