Bundal Island to attract $50bn investment

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail while addressing a news conference along with Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Haider Zaidi said that the Bundal Island project off the coast of Karachi has the potential to attract investments up to $50bn.
The governor Sindh said that Bundal Island was not a housing project and it would increase revenue of the Sindh government. The project it would also help Karachi become a tourists’ destination in the country.
It is being said that island will emerge as an even better project than Ravi
Riverfront city. The main objective is to create two new cities there, settled on a comprehensive master plan.
The twin islands Bundal and Buddu, are located at the mouth of Korangi Creek and spread over 10,000 acres. The project has recently been facing backlash by environmentalists claiming that the island is not viable for development.
