Local manufacturing, proven industrial applications and a first export order to Sri Lanka mark a new chapter for Pakistan’s insulation industry
At a time when industrial supply chains are being reshaped and manufacturers are reassessing their dependence on imports, United Insulation Pakistan is demonstrating the growing potential of local engineering and manufacturing. With its insulation solutions gaining acceptance among major industrial organizations in Pakistan and its first export order secured for Sri Lanka, the company is taking a significant step towards becoming a regional supplier of specialized insulation products.
The Sri Lanka order was secured from a major international organization. The order nevertheless represents an important international reference for United Insulation Pakistan and a validation of its ability to serve demanding industrial customers beyond the domestic market.
According to Zain Arsalan, Commercial Director, United Insulation Pakistan, the customer had previously been sourcing insulation products internationally. Following disruptions in global supply chains, alternative regional sources were explored. United Insulation provided samples for technical evaluation, after which the customer proceeded with its first order.
“The customer evaluated our products and was impressed with their quality and performance. This ultimately resulted in our first export order to Sri Lanka,” Arsalan said.
KEY MILESTONES
First International Export — First export order secured for Sri Lanka from a major international organization.
AluClad PUR in Pakistan — AluClad polyurethane pipe insulation has gained acceptance among leading multinational and major industrial organizations in Pakistan.
In-House Engineering — Development of foil embossing technology and associated machinery for AluClad/U3 solutions.
Advanced Product Development — Polyurethane capabilities expanded to specialized densities of up to 180 kg/m³.
ALUCLAD PUR — PROVEN IN THE LOCAL MARKET
While Sri Lanka represents United Insulation Pakistan’s first export milestone, its AluClad PUR pipe insulation has already established a strong presence in Pakistan.
The product is being supplied to major industrial customers, including leading multinational organizations, for applications where thermal insulation, mechanical protection and durability are essential.
United Insulation has developed its foil embossing process and machinery in-house, strengthening its manufacturing capabilities and enabling greater control over production.
BUILDING A STRONGER LOCAL SUPPLY CHAIN
For United Insulation Pakistan, import substitution is not simply about replacing an imported product. Industrial customers demand technical performance, consistency, reliability, service and continuity of supply.
The company therefore develops products around specific industrial requirements, provides samples for customer evaluation and builds commercial relationships following technical approval.
This approach has driven the development of specialized high-density polyurethane products, including a 180 kg/m³ solution, as well as local calcium silicate manufacturing.
THE NEXT CHAPTER
“Our target is exports. We want to use Pakistan as a manufacturing base and take our products to international markets,” Arsalan stated.
