Suzuki to invest $450m in Pakistan

Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) Osamu Suzuki paid a visit to a local dealership center at Rawalpindi. While addressing the Staff, vendors and dealers he revealed that the company is interested to invest $450 million for setting up another production plant in Karachi. RCCI President Malik Shahid Saleem welcomed the initiative of Suzuki Motors to invest $ 450 million in Pakistan.
Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMCL) is a Pakistani affiliate of Japanese automaker Suzuki. It is the Pakistani assembler and distributor of cars manufactured by Suzuki and its subsidiaries and foreign divisions. Currently Pak Suzuki is the largest car assembler in Pakistan. Suzuki manufactured cars are liked by the locals because of cheap maintenance and easy availability of aftermarket parts. According to a recent study the Top 5 Most selling cars in Pakistan after Toyota Corolla are Mehran, Bolan, Ravi, Wagon R, and Cultus all of which are manufactured by PSMCL.
