State of the art ‘Virtual Reality Centre’ set up at NED University Karachi

The NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi has established a next generation virtual reality center to help students in the education, research and practice. The facility houses three major systems including virtual teaming system, walking VR system and projection VR system. The major objective of VR Centre is to gear up the performance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Management by being a capacity builder, solution provider and knowledge innovation hub.
Virtual reality (VR) is an interactive computer-generated experience taking place within a simulated environment. It incorporates mainly auditory and visual feedback, but may also allow other types of sensory feedback. This immersive environment can be similar to the real world.
The NED Virtual Reality Centre presently is for the research projects, virtual models of high-rise buildings, aircraft manufacturing, space shuttle, and space visit models including applications of several projects are part of the lab. The project could be used in construction industry, underground plans, infrastructure development, mechanical engineering, car and aircraft-manufacturing industries and the healthcare industries.
In the virtual reality center, any engineer, either individually or in a group, can experience visiting any part of the building. The important thing is that they can also bring about any changes they require.
