PEC urges to use local engineers for Bhasha Dam project

Engr. Javed saleem sheikh chairman Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has urged the government to use Pakistani engineers in the in the construction of Bhasha dam to save money and enhance the skills of the local engineers. While appearing on a news channel, he appreciated the government’s steps to ensure the construction of Bhasha dam.

The Diamer Bhasha Dam project would cost Rs 1800 billion but initially the government requires 400 million to complete the first phase. It can produce 45 percent cheap electricity from water reservoirs and avoid use of Thermal, which is costly.

Qureshi suggested the concerned departments to establish a ‘public limited company’ using which the Pakistani nation can support the mega project within the stipulated time frame.
