PCATP elections scammed, IHC to look into the matter

Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) organize elections for the executive committee every two years. The results of the election held by PCATP in 2023 has been challenged in the Islamabad High court on accounts of hacking of the online polling system and disturbance in the results. Islamabad high court has been requested not to consider the polling results and order a transparent re election.

Architects, Jehangir Khan Sherpao, Azhar M Sualehi, Farmanullah Khan, and Husnain Raza Khan, who were running for the PCATC office, on Saturday, filed a writ petition under Article 199 of the constitution through advocates, Umer Ijaz Gilani and Jehanzeb Durrani. They have also requested an FIA investigation into the matter of hacking of the polling systems.

According to the sources, a large majority of the election committee did not agree with the results of the polling and instead, has urged an official publication of the report issued by the IT company that explains the hacking of online voting systems.

The IT company that was managing a clean commencement of the elections, Oath-Systems Pvt. Ltd, has admitted in their report that an attack on the voting systems was observed during the polling which is why, the results of the elections cannot be considered valid.
