Chinese Group showed interest to invest $2Bn in Telecom Sector

Sunwalk (Pvt) Ltd. Is a multinational telecom company based in China that has developed multiple technology based telecommunication infrastructures in China and has also acquired the TIP license in Pakistan. The company intended to invest 2 billion dollars for the installation of a stable fiber optic network in Pakistan that will be able to cover an area of 100,000 km over a period of time.

For this purpose, a high level delegation of the company led by chairman HOU had a meeting with the Federal Minister IT and Telecom Syed Amin ul Haq. The process of investment in the telecom infrastructure and installation of the fiber optic network were discussed in detail during the meeting.

The company had already initiated the deployment after an investment of 5 million dollars and is planning to install 5000 km of optical fiber as the next step. Syed Amin ul Haq ensured the delegation that the hurdles regarding this project including RoWs to laying the fiber will be removed as soon as possible as the federal departments are already in talks with the Ministry of Railways and Highway Authority.

The Chairman of the company expressed his gratitude for the Federal IT minister and his team in regards of their work to help the project. Member Telecom Muhammad Omar Malik, DG Wireless Jahanzeb Rahim, LOU Vice President of Sunwalk Group, Tony Li (Assistant to Chairman), Chen Dianbo (COO of Sunwalk Pakistan), and Afshaan Malik (CBO of Sunwalk Pakistan) were a part of the meeting.
