NHA undertaking 6 feasibility studies

National Highway Authority (NHA) is undertaking feasibility  studies of  six proposed projects following PC-1 of these approved by the NHA’s Departmental Development Authority (DDWP).

DDWP has approved PCs  for undertaking feasibility study and and detailed design for road tunnel across Babusar Pass and its link access roads; for feasibility study and detailed design  for development of  rest areas along major highways in Balochistan including M-8 which has approximately 41 rest areas; for feasibility and detailed design  and preparation  of PC-1 for construction  of  road between  Shounter to Rattu along with tunnel at Shounter; for feasibility study and detailed design for construction of Shahdadkot bypass on N-55;for Riverine Survey, Hydrology study and coordination  for Hydraulic Model Study for  construction of additional bridge over river Indua at Ghazi Ghat on N-70,and for feasibility study and detailed design for construction of Wangu Hills tunnel on M-8.

According to the NHA sources,20 PC-1s were processed by NHA in the FY2022 for consideration and approval  of DDWP, out of which 06 PC-1 had been presented and approved in different DDWP meetings.

NHA had processed 02 PC-Is during FY 2022  out of which 01 PC-1 had been presented and approved by DDWP. This pertains to Construction of Bhong Interchange on Sukkur -Multan Motorway (M-5) at its intersection with Bhong-Sadiqabad Road , length being 520 KM and 130 KM  at an estimated cost of Rs 1263.25 million.

Other PC-1 for Construction of Flyover at the junction of N-5 and N-65 at Sukkur 4 Lane along with approach roads at at an estimated cost of Rs 1351.547 million was at  the process  stage till sometime back for its presentation   for consideration and approval by DDWP, the  sources added.
