Next phase of Pak-China relations to focus on B2B cooperation

Pakistan is gearing up for the upcoming visit of PM Shehbaz sharif to China on 1st November 2022. In this regard the the 11th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was held through video conference where both sides expressed satisfaction over the ongoing projects under CPEC.

The meeting was co-chaired by Federal Minister for Planning Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal & Vice Chairman National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC) China Lin Nian.

During the meeting it was decided that the first phase of development under CPEC’s portfolio was increasing government to government cooperation. Now in the next phase the main focus will be on  Business to Business cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting the project of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) was also discussed at length which will benefit a large segment of the population of one of the largest city of Pakistan, Karachi.

While speaking at a news conference after the meeting minister Ahsan Iqbal said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would announce all the projects which have been finalized in the JCC meeting during his visit to China on November 1, 2022.
