A meeting was set up by the newly elected Islamabad Chamber of Commerce delegation and the federal minister of planning and development Asad Umar was invited to join in and share his views on the matter of industrial Development in Islamabad.
This delegation was led by the president of the ICCI Muhammad Shakeel Munir.
Other representatives of the ICCI including Khalid Javed and Abdul Rauf were also a part of the meeting.
In the meeting, it was decided that a new industrial zone will be set up in Islamabad which will solely be based on the public private partnership (PPP).
All the members of the meeting, including the honourable Federal Minister shared their views and plans on the above stated matter. Basic points of the project were discussed in detail.
Mr. Asad Umar said that the industries that are currently present in Islamabad have covered up a huge area of the land and further expansion is required in order to create other economic bases and employment opportunities. Foreign investments can also be collected in the form of exports, which would prove to be very beneficial for the country. He also said that the uninterrupted supply of basic needs of living including gas, electricity and water would be made sure to be provided in the zone.
