Malaysian Edotco inks MoU with PTCL

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) & its subsidiary, Pak Telecom Mobile Limited, Ufone has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with edotco Group (edotco) which is the leading regional integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company in Asia with headquarters in Malaysia. This will open up collaboration opportunities amongst the parties in the areas of telecommunication infrastructure development. This includes efficient operations and energy management, fabrication as well as modernization of structures and offerings. It will meet the exponential data growth and usage requirement in the country as more users are transitioning from 3G to 4G and beyond.

This partnership will bring Pakistan on the roadmap towards 5G connectivity. It is pertinent to mention here that Edotco already own 40% of the towers in Pakistan and is the world’s eighth largest tower co by sites.
On this occasion, Arif Hussain, Country Managing Director of Edotco, Pakistan, said, “The construction of the right sharable infrastructure is essential in realising the vision of a connected Pakistan…Our strategy has always been to partner with the key players in the industry and we see this as a step closer to achieving Digital Pakistan ambitions.”
