Major development projects for Islamabad to be finalised in December

Capital Development Authority (CDA) has assigned the concerned departments to finalise plans for three major development projects. The plans will be presented in the upcoming CDA-Development Working Party (CDA-DWP) meeting which is scheduled to be held in December. In past three to five years no major rehab activity has been done in the federal capital.

In this regard, PC-1 for Rawal Dam Chowk project will be placed in the next meeting. CDA’s design and engineering team is in process of completion of the design through its in-house capacity, saving several million rupees of the authority.

Development of I-12 sector is also to be placed in the development working party meeting. Recently, the revised layout has been approved by CDA. The project was long delayed due to various technicalities.

The PC-II for the rehabilitation of entire infrastructure of city will also be submitted. Under this mega initiative, impact-based rehabilitation of road infrastructure, water supply, sewerage system, drainage system and other services infrastructure would be carried out with special focus on protection, preservation and enhancement of green cover.
