KMM establishing vehicle assembly unit

Karachi: New auto policy resulting in aggressive participation of new companies in Auto sector. Another new company has got permission from Engineering Development Board i.e M/s. Khalid Mushtaq Motors (Pvt) Ltd (KMM) to set up a vehicle assembly and manufacturing unit in Nooriabad industrial area under the Greenfield investment category.

KMM’s Chief Operating Officer Anwar Iqbal said that the infrastructure and building of our plant is almost complete. On the other hand complete, state of the art plant and machinery is already shipped from China which includes most modern E.D painting equipment, welding equipment along with the jigs and fixture, final assembly equipment and most important, testing equipments.

He said that total investment of the project is around Rs. 1 billion which would create 200 direct jobs and around 500 indirect jobs. The company has signed a technical collaboration agreement with the Chinese company KYC, a part of Changan Group, for assembling light commercial vehicles and mini passenger vans. Our brand name would be “Mushtaq”.

Anwar Iqbal is the person who has always been held in high esteem among the automobile manufacturers, assemblers, dealers and retailers in Pakistan. He is known and acclaimed to be the man behind the success story of many Chinese origin vehicles (two wheelers and four wheelers in Pakistan).

He is the man who is responsible to present to the Pakistani commuters a motorcycle at a price, which no one earlier even thought about. He is also the crusher of the price enigma that reigned the motorcycle market of Pakistan for more than two decades and last but not the least he is the man who broke the monopoly of two giant motorcycle manufacturers virtually making them take a price tag U-turn. Anwar Iqbal has now working in newly established Khalid Mushtaq Motors (Pvt) Ltd as Chief Operating Officer.
