Karachi-Chaman highway to be reconstructed

The Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar chaired a review meeting
regarding the National Highway Authority and stated about the need for better
road infrastructure especially in the areas where foreign investments are
expected.
He gave the directions for reconstruction of Karachi-Chaman highway to the NHA
and said that the work should start as soon as possible. He highlighted that the
reconstruction of Karachi-Chaman highway will prove beneficial to the people of
Balochistan as well as provide a better corridor to other cities and regions of the
country. He also expressed the dire need for a better road in infrastructure in the
province of Balochistan.
Caretaker Prime Minister stated that a good infrastructure is vital for the overall
development of any country and NHA is playing a pivotal role in the construction
and development of roads in Pakistan. He further stated that a good network of
highways plays an important role for the future development of the country. He
also directed that detailed plan of action needs to be made along with a proper
utilization of the available resources to confirm the success of the project within
due time.
Federal Minister for Communications Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Federal Minister for
Finance Dr Shamshad Akhtar, Federal Minister for Planning Sami Saeed, chairman
of NHA and relevant government officials were a part of the meeting.
