JICA appreciated for upgrading of technical institutes

For the up-gradation of Government Technical Training Institutes (GTTI) in Faisalabad, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is extending full cooperation, said Engr Ahmed Hassan Vice President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) while talking to a delegation of JICA that visited FCCI.

The JICA delegation was consistent of Engr Noboru Kakisu Chief Advisor/training planning, Engineer Tadao Ishii expert in Metalwork Machining, Engineer Senji Oyabu expert in Material Testing and Metrology, Engineer Kuniaki Kato Expert in Industrial Linkage/project coordinator /production and quality management, Takayuki Motoya, an expert in Monitoring and Usman Tufail Assistant consultation/coordinator. 

Engr Ahmed Hassan said that despite of the best efforts of the government, we are unable to fulfil the demand of trained and skilled manpower without the help of JICA. He said that Government Technical Training Institutes are trying its optimum best to provide trained manpower but due to ill-equipment laboratories they are handicapped to provide competent operators to handle the high tech electro-mechanical machines. He appreciated the JICA for extending technical as well as financial cooperation for the up gradation of mechanical department of the GTTI Samanabad. He said that Japan provided latest laboratory equipment which will help students to improve their skills to operate and handle the modern machines. He was optimistic that JICA will continue this cooperation by providing laboratory equipment to other GTTIs of this city. 

Later Engineer Ahmed Hassan also visited GTTI Samanabad along with JICA delegation where they had installed modern machinery in addition to providing high tech laboratory equipment.
