Italian Iveco trucks to be Assembled in Pakistan

Master Motor Corporation (MMC) has entered into a Joint Venture to assemble Italian Ivenco trucks in Pakistan by mid-2019. The Chief Executive, Master Motor Danial Malik told the media that the company has imported eight Iveco trucks in the last 2-3 months and has decided to start assembling the trucks in Pakistan by June 2019. He was talking to the media on the inauguration ceremony of the company’s first state-of-the-art 5-S facility and showroom at SITE, Karachi. They have already established 10 dealerships in major cities of Pakistan. MMC plans to assemble 300 trucks in the first five years and will increase production after assessing market demand. The Italian truck is fit for long route in Central Asia and China.
MMC has also applied for Greenfield license for the Ivenco project. Iveco vehicles and Foton and Fuso vehicles, which are already being sold in the country are Ogra compliant and the company is starting production of Changan brand vehicles in Pakistan from March onwards. This joint venture between Master Motor and Changan Automobiles from China, set up with the initial investment of 100 million dollars, will provide 10 thousand direct and indirect employment opportunities. Iveco trucks would be produced at Changan plant located at Port Qasim which will have the capacity to roll out 30,000 vehicles per year. MMC is planning to roll out Passenger vehicles, SUVs, MPVs, LCVs, trucks and buses in collaboration with global giants like FOTON, CHANGAN, FUSO and IVECO with a nationwide after sales service.
