IIL redefining construction in Pakistan; Affordable Houses and Awards ceremony

 

Mr. Riyaz T. Chinoy, CEO International Industries Limited (IIL) has said that IIL has developed multiple models of affordable houses of various dimensions & layouts (256 sq.ft. upto 792 sq.ft.) which can be constructed in less than 10 days. He was addressing the Award distribution Ceremony of Affordable Housing Design Ideas Competition 2019 organised by ILL.

IIL and IAP, Karachi conducted an Affordable Housing Design Competition in which countrywide professional & student Architects participated and submitted their designs. These designs were judged by a panel of expert jury members including Ar. Arif Changezi (President IAP), Ar. Saifullah Sami (Principal Architect – Saifullah Sami Architect), Ar. Kalim Ahmed Siddiqui (Principal Architect – KS & Associates), Ar. Rashid Rasheed (CEO- SR Design Works), Dr. Shoaib Ahmad (JPC Chair Professor- NED – UET), and Dr. Suneela Ahmed (Assistant Professor – NED UET).

The event was attended by Mr. Zaigham Rizvi (Chair of Prime Minister; Task Committee on Affordable Housing), Mr. Abdul Kareem Adhia (Vice Chairman- ABAAD) and Mr. Shehzad Roy (UNODC Goodwill Ambassador) and various renowned Architects.

Awards to the winners were distributed by Mr. Shehzad Roy (UNODC Goodwill Ambassador), who is the first person in Pakistan to get his home constructed using the modern quick construction technology using Hollow Structural Steel.

CEO IIL said that “We would like to extend our support to the low cost housing project initiative and would like to work with the concerned government authorities to reduce the cost & time without compromising on the quality of the construction”
