Govt. seeks private sector’s participation in Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme

An iftar party was held by Minister Housing & Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed in honor of private builders and developers. While addressing the party the Minister said that very soon public-private partnership authority will be established in the province to ensure participation of the private sector in Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme and speedy construction of housing units.
By-laws of LDA, Punjab Housing & Town Planning Agency (PHATA) and other institutions are also being amended for providing relief to builders and developers.

Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said that construction of 2.5 million housing units is only possible with active participation of the private sector.
He reiterated his resolve that incentives would be provided to builders and developers.

He maintained that process of initiation of housing projects under Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme would be made transparent in consultation with the private sector and quality of these housing units would also be ensured at all costs.
