Full range of Renault trucks Launched in Pakistan

Ghandhara Nissan Ltd (GNL) has introduced the complete range of Renault trucks to the Pakistani Market. Currently all the vehicles are being imported in Built-up condition from Lyon, France. But the company plans to start Completely Knocked Down (CKD) assembly at its manufacturing site situated at Port Qasim, Karachi by the end of 2019. As part of the agreement signed earlier this year, GNL will be responsible for CKD manufacturing as well as import, distribution and after-sales service.

Speaking at the launch, Olivier De Saint Meleuc, Senior Vice President of Renault Trucks International, said: “I am personally proud to witness this milestone for Renault Trucks in Pakistan with our partner GNL. Pakistan is an important market for Renault Trucks.”

Right now Pakistan is the Center of attention for automobile manufacturers because of the One Belt One Road initiative. Pakistan can provide low labor costs and a high potential market due to the greater economic activity under CPEC. Industry officials say a large number of trucks and dumpers are being purchased by private contractors working on large infrastructure projects. Automobile Giants like Renault, Volkswagon, KA Hanteng, Isuzu, Faw, have gained access into the Pakistani market while many others including VOLVO are seeking entry into the highly lucrative automobile market of Pakistan.
