Oman’s construction industry is one of the most significant contributors to the country’s economic
growth. It is expected to reach a market size of US$ 19.4 billion by 2023, including energy and utility
construction, residential construction, and infrastructure. The government is investing heavily in
developing the country’s infrastructure to attract more foreign investment and diversify the economy.
The construction output in Oman is expected to reach OMR 3,356.9 million by 2026. This growth is
fueled by the government’s ambitious infrastructure projects, such as the expansion of the Muscat
International Airport and the development of the new Salalah airport. The government is also investing
in new roads, bridges, and highways to improve connectivity within the country.
To attract more foreign investment, Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment
Promotion, in cooperation with the government and private sectors, has announced 18 investment
opportunities worth more than $3.8 billion in the Sultanate.
In this context, IFP (International Fairs and Promotions) and Al Nimr Expo are organizing the 2 nd annual
Project Oman, the International Construction Technology, Infrastructure and Building Materials
Exhibition. Project Oman is an excellent opportunity for investors and companies to explore the growing
construction market in Oman. The exhibition will bring together key players in the industry, including
manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors, to showcase their products and services and optimizes
international trade relations and business partnerships.
The last edition of Project Oman, which was held in 2022, was a huge success, attracting 120 exhibitors
from 15 countries and 7,414 local and international visitors. The exhibition provided a platform for
companies to showcase their latest products and services, share their expertise, and explore potential
business partnerships. The event was praised for its ability to bring together key players in the
construction industry and provide a comprehensive platform for networking and collaboration. Building
on this success, the upcoming edition of Project Oman promises to be even bigger and better, offering
more opportunities for companies to connect and expand their businesses.
The B2B Matchmaking Program is a significant feature of the exhibition, providing a platform for
companies to meet and discuss potential business partnerships. The exhibition will also feature a special
showcase called “Oman Manufacturing & Supply Chain” to expand and showcase not only the
opportunities in the construction sector but even more to bring the local and international
manufacturers that provide all the essentials to develop the country.
Project Oman is part of IFP’s “Project Series,” which includes six premier construction exhibitions across
the Middle East and Africa. The event will take place from October 23 to 25, 2023, at the Oman
Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat.
