Major thrust continues to be on Information and Communication Technology ( ICT) sector through number of planned activities during financial year 2022-23 for promoting Digital Pakistan through implementation of number of development schemes and programmes.
These planned activities during the new financial year, according to the information available from the official quarters, include :
Establishment and operations of Special Technology Zones (STZs) comprising Information Technology Parks, Software Technology Parks , Business Process Outsourcing Complexes, Research and Development facilities and Excellence Centres for technology driven businesses and startups engaged in providing Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services in different parts of the country.
Subsidized training facilities and certification on cutting edge technologies like Machine Learning, Cyber Security , Cloud Computing etc.
Facilitating Information Technology companies to get ISO37001 and ISO 27701 certifications in order to help them upskill Business Process Outsourcing industry to bring more business from European countries.
Standardization of IT industry which will cover certification of 100 call centres on IS18295.
Establishment of as many as Software Technology Parks in Pakistan with rental subsidy to facilitate IT industry.
Establishing Technology Research Centre in collaboration with the industry players for improving and creating new cutting edge technologies.
And, establishment of Cloud Infrastructure.
These and much more other activities in the ICT sector for promoting Digital Pakistan are planned to be undertaken, with or without any foreign assistance, under the Public Development Development Programme (PSDP) of the Federal Government during the recently commenced new financial year.
