ECNEC injects Rs 659.403 billion in Development projects

A meeting of Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) presided over by Finance minister Asad Umer has approved Rs 659.403 Billion worth of developmental projects. The Different project which were granted funds are

  1. Project for evacuation of power from hydro power projects of Suki Kinari, district Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, Kohala, district Muzaffarabad, and Mahal, district Bagh, AJK, at a cost of Rs 79.929 billion. The objective of the project is construction of 500 KV transmission network/
  2. Sindh Solar Energy Project (SSEP) with Rs 12.848 billion cost to support the scale up of solar power in Sindh province and increase access to electricity
  3. Rehabilitation project of Dargai hydroelectric power station, Malakand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost Rs 4.050 billion
  4. Inclusion of include Tangir Hydropower in the Diamer-Bhasha Dam project and approved the revised cost of the project at Rs 479.686 billion.
  5. Balochistan Water Resource Development Project (Zhob and Mula River basins) at a cost of Rs 16.453.40 million. The project will benefit districts of Muslim Bagh, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi and parts of Kalat in the Balochistan province.

Peshawar Sustainable Bus Rapid Transit Corridor project. ECNEC approved the revised cost of the project at Rs 66.437 billion with June 2019 as deadline for the completion of project. Apart from main BRT corridor, additional elevated structures having total length of 2.18 km will also be constructed
