Report by Engineering Post

Under the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program a total of 90550 trainings were delivered across multiple sectors throughout the country in FY 2026.

These included 24117 conventional trainings, 11860 industrial trainings and 54573 IT trainings.

Based on the past trends and tracer study insights, it was expected that around 53 percent (47875) of trainees will quite successfully transition into employment.

The programme, as per information available, places strong emphasis on women’s economic empowerment, particularly through IT-based trainings, enabling self-employment, freelancing, and increased participation of women in the digital economy. By providing access to digital tools, the initiative also empowers women to participate in the online economy, generate sustainable income, and strengthen their role in Pakistan’s digital and entrepreneurial landscape.
