Delite Refrigeration, one of Pakistan’s established names in the refrigeration and air-conditioning sector, has strengthened its position in the HVAC industry by establishing Punjab’s first bulk refrigerant gas filling facility. With decades of experience in the refrigerant gas business, the company has built an extensive nationwide distribution network and a large customer base. The landmark project was envisioned by the Late Mr. Inam Elahi Sheikh and has now been successfully completed under the leadership of Mr. Aftab Inam Sheikh.
The establishment of this state-of-the-art facility reflects Delite Refrigeration’s commitment to adopting advanced engineering practices, enhancing local manufacturing capabilities, and supporting Pakistan’s requirements for the air-conditioning industry.
Speaking exclusively to Engineering Post, Mr Umer Aftab, owner of the Delite Refrigeration Group, highlighted the significance of the facility and the rigorous engineering measures adopted during its development. He informed that the objective to setup this facility is to fill the large gap in the refrigerants sector by supplying the bulk gas to the OEMs. Another objective for this step is to enhance the HFC’s Gas Quota, he added. He also highlighted that to assure quality at all levels, Delite Refrigeration Group engaged high level technical professionals from China to support the setting up of the facility.
Speaking exclusively to Engineering Post, Miss Alice Zhou, representative of China’s Quzhou Rongqiang Chemical Company explained that R-32 is classified as a highly flammable refrigerant, making safety the foremost priority throughout the plant’s design, construction, and operation. “There are very strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both personnel and the materials used within the facility,” she said.
The plant incorporates advanced engineering features including spark-proof doors, flame-proof installations, and explosion-proof electrical and mechanical equipment. Every critical component has been selected to minimize ignition risks and ensure safe handling of refrigerant gas during storage, filling, and transportation.
She further noted that the entire facility has been developed in accordance with internationally recognized safety practices based on global standards. Comprehensive operational procedures, staff training protocols, and engineering safeguards have been implemented to ensure compliance with the highest levels of industrial safety.
Describing the project as a significant milestone for Pakistan’s refrigeration industry, Miss Alice Zhou said the facility is the first of its kind in Punjab and represents a major advancement in the country’s refrigerant handling infrastructure. She expressed confidence that the plant would enhance the availability of quality refrigerant while promoting safer and more efficient filling operations. Delite Refrigeration’s longstanding presence in Pakistan’s refrigerant market. Having traded refrigerants for many years, the company possesses a well-established distribution network and an extensive customer base across the country. The new filling facility will enable Delite Refrigeration to better serve growing demand from the air-conditioning industry while maintaining international safety and quality standards.
