Chinese delegation visits FPCCI

An eight member Chinese delegation headed by Ms. Ling Yaqing, Secretary General Worldwide Business Culture Exchange Center China visited Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Regional Office Lahore in 3rd week of May to get the essence of business opportunities in Pakistan.

Mr. Zubair F. Tufail, President FPCCI shared the output of his meeting with Chinese president Xi Jinping during his visit to Peoples Republic China. He informed Chinese government wants same development process which china is enjoying since decades. He informed china is interested to find shortest routes to Europe. Taking about CPEC he said CPEC will steer an era of long-lasting economic benefits to the region and beyond the region. The project will also link China’s western regions with the Gwadar Port.

Mr. Manzoor ul Haq, Regional Chairman and Vice President FPCCI said Pakistani Business Community perceives China as a major partner in the economic development process.  It’s time to further foster our economic relation in the context of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). China is one of leading trade partner of Pakistan and has been playing the significant role in the economic development of the country. He highlighted various investment and joint ventures opportunities and said joint ventures with Chinese enterprises would facilitate a vital transfer of technology especially in the value-addition process. He said we should focus on trade balancing, Currently, Pakistan imports from China are $ 1.903 Billion and Exports from China $ 8.12 Billion.

Ms. Ling Yaqing, leader of the delegation said Pakistan and China are steady geo-political partners since many decades furthermore his cooperation has been translated into economic cooperation from time to time. Both Countries are strongly associated together and both countries mutual relations are based on solid foundations. She appreciated the role of FPCCI for economic development of the Country and said economic globalization and regional integration has provided enormous opportunities for further cooperation between China and Pakistan. She added Pakistan is an ideal destination for foreign investment and top priority of the Chinese investors.

The delegation was comprised of knowledgeable members from Manufacturing and selling the Transformers, quartzite’s (stone)  board, Ceramic products production and sales, Quartz and mining, processing and Architectural Engineering.
