Chinese company willing to invest in Municipal Solid Waste incineration for power generation

Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) President Shah Faisal Afridi while speaking at meeting in Lahore said that Pakistan needs to adopt low cost high efficiency energy generation models in collaboration with Chinese. He informed the attendants that a Chinese company “Tianying” was willing to invest in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) incineration for power generation. The company is looking for suitable project agents to start investment in Pakistan. He urged the government to adopt waste-to-energy incineration model in Pakistan in partnership with Chinese expert companies.
The meeting was told that Tianying Company Shanghai, produces low-priced energy in China through incineration of waste materials. In Pakistan about 3,000MW electricity can be generated using agricultural residue and municipal solid waste. Pakistan generates about 15 million tons of crops residues annually, which can be used as feedstock to generate 120MW electricity
