CHEC to upgrade PR Infrastructure

Lahore: A delegation from China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC) headed by Chief Executive of CHEC, Wang Xiaoping met with the CEO of Pakistan Railways Muhammad Aftab Akbar in end September and showed interest in upgrading the infrastructure of Pakistan Railway. The company wants to undertake the project of building Marshalling Yard Pipri, container depot, restoration of railways lines in Karachi Port and starting a shuttle freight train between the port and Pipri on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. Mr Aftab Akbar thanked the delegation for showing such keen interest and asked them to prepare and share a feasibility report on the matter. He said that Pakistan Railway is doing its best to upgrade its infrastructure so that the investors can be facilitated. Deputy Chief Marketing Manager Kashif Rasheed and Deputy Chief Operating Superintendent Goods Mehmood Lakho were appointed key persons from Pakistan Railways side on the occasion.
