Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) to work proactively for controlling the artificial increase of raw material. Cartelization in the industry has to be discouraged at all costs said Prime Minister Imran Khan while chairing a meeting on construction sector.
Promotion of construction sector is priority of the government because over 40 sectors are directly linked with it and increase in construction activity creates employment and economic activity in the country. The administrative setup is very close to declaring construction sector as an industry so that the sector can avail the same benefits being enjoyed by other industries.
During the meeting it was decided that regulatory bodies of construction sector must include the representatives from ABAD so that their point of view is taken before any legislation is passed. The premier directed to include ABAD members in the decision making of Capital Development Authority (CDA).
