Built on Trust: Shakeel Electric’s Journey Across Three Generations

For over six decades, Shakeel Electric has remained one of Pakistan’s most trusted names in the electrical industry. Established in 1963 by the late Mr. Hafeez Uddin Shamsi, the company built its reputation on supplying genuine, high-quality electrical products backed by exceptional customer service. Today, under the leadership of the third generation, represented by Bilal Ahmed Shamsi and Waseem Ahmed, Shakeel Electric continues to evolve with changing market demands while staying true to its founding principles of integrity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

In an exclusive conversation with Engineering Post, Bilal Ahmed Shamsi and Waseem Ahmed shared the company’s remarkable journey, future expansion plans, and commitment to delivering authentic electrical solutions.

“Shakeel Electric has been serving Pakistan’s electrical sector since 1963. We are proud to represent the third generation of our family business, carrying forward a legacy built on trust and professionalism,” they said. “Over the years, we have witnessed significant changes in the industry, but one thing has remained constant, our commitment to providing only genuine products to our customers.”

Currently, the company imports a comprehensive range of electrical products from leading international manufacturers, including KRK, Weiller and Green electric and is the authorised distributor of leading international brands including CHINT, Schneider Electric, ABB, Fuji and LS. According to the management, maintaining authenticity has been the foundation of the company’s success.

“Our biggest strength is the confidence customers place in us. The market knows Shakeel Electric as a company that deals only in original products. This reputation has taken decades to build, and we consider it our greatest asset,” they emphasized.

Discussing future expansion, Bilal Ahmed Shamsi revealed that the company is preparing to enter Pakistan’s manufacturing sector in a phased manner.

“Our immediate plan is to establish local assembly facilities for selected electrical products. This will be the first phase of our expansion strategy. Once we successfully develop the required infrastructure and expertise, the second phase will focus on manufacturing products locally. We believe indigenous manufacturing will not only strengthen our business but will also contribute positively to Pakistan’s industrial growth and reduce dependence on imports.”

The management also highlighted the importance of after-sales service, an area where they believe many businesses fall short.

“In our experience, the majority of customer complaints are not due to product defects but incorrect installation practices. Recognizing this, we have developed a dedicated technical support team that assists customers with proper installation and troubleshooting,” they explained.

Unlike conventional practices where customers are asked to remove faulty equipment and transport it to the supplier, Shakeel Electric follows a customer-centric approach.

“If a customer experiences any issue, we do not ask them to uninstall the product and bring it to our office. Instead, our technical team visits the site, inspects the installation, identifies the root cause, and provides the necessary solution. This approach saves our customers valuable time while ensuring that the equipment is handled correctly.

“Our goal is not simply to sell electrical products but to provide complete, reliable solutions backed by genuine quality and dependable service. As we move towards local assembly and manufacturing, we remain committed to upholding the values that have defined Shakeel Electric for more than sixty years.”
