ABAD has been directed by SWC to approach Supreme Court (SC) in the issues regarding NOCs. The commission in an order stated that the issue regarding construction of multistory buildings in Karachi is pending before the Supreme Court, wherein SC has passed an order on January 14, 2018 that the builders can raise construction of parking plus six sale-able floors.
Earlier Chairman ABAD had stated that In spite of this order only four NOCs have been issued by the Water Board. Order Issued by the SWC stated that Water Commission has not restrained the Water Board from issuing NOC nor could it direct the Water Board otherwise. The Water Board may issue NOCs subject to its own rules. If ABAD has any issues with Water Board it can raise them in front of the SC.
