2nd International Conference & Exhibition on Energy Conservation and Efficiency

Post the success of its debut, 2nd International Conference & Exhibition on Energy Conservation and Efficiency (ICECE 2018), FSK Energy Conservation and Efficiency Organization (FEECO) and the Center for Energy Research and Development (CERAD) UET had jointly organized the 2nd conference (ICECE 2018) on October 16-17 at UET, Lahore. The conference and exhibition timing was 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at UET Main Auditorium. Opening ceremony started 10:30 am and inaugurated by Ex Maier Lahore Mr. Farooq Amjad Meer along Vice Chancellor UET Mr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid. Mr. Rao Khalid Director FSK and Dr. Sohail Aftab also presented their speeches in opening ceremony.

Different International and National Experts from Energy field participated in the conference.

The conference brought together the engineers, researchers, energy experts, manufacturers and building designers at one platform to interact, discuss, explore and exchange ideas in the fast growing field of energy efficiency and conservation strategies.

Mr. Farooq Amjad Meer said, during his speech in opening ceremony that the Government of Pakistan has made considerable efforts to eliminate energy deficiency. There is absolutely no doubt that the energy conservation appears to be a great way to help and reduce the gap between electricity supply and demand. This conference is meant to look at Pakistan’s perspective over wide range of areas such as practical implementation of energy modeling, smart controls, resource management, renewal energies, combined heat and power (CHP) system, building design and efficient energy system.

While addressing to the participants of the conference Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said, “UET is facilitating the learners to seek more and more knowledge theoretically and practically to obtain the real implementation of the skills at large for the betterment of the life of masses.” He also thanked international experts for their presence and sharing their research, knowledge and experiences.

 

At this occasion Director KICS Prof. Dr. Waqar said, “Energy generation and conservation both are important for organizations. He briefed the audience about the working of UET in energy sector. He stressed on adoption modern techniques, research, and innovation to serve the nation at large.

 

At the Closing ceremony Vice Chancellor UET Mr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Mr. Rao Khalid Director FSK and Dr. Sohail Aftab distributed shields among all the speakers, Paper presenters, Exhibitors and Event Managers. At that moment Dr. Waqar also presented brief summery of the outcome of ICECE 2018 and Mr. Rao Khalid appreciated all the stake holders especially Event Manager Seacrest International Production (SIP) for organizing such a great event.

10 international speakers from esteemed international energy centers and universities had been invited to deliver technical talks. Local speakers from the prestigious universities and industries also joined the conference and presented their speeches.

An industrial exhibition was also managed where more than 20 stalls from the leading industries of Pakistan and research centers were set up.

ICECE (2018) will boost the awareness among education and corporate sector as our Country is facing energy crisis which has created gap between the demand and supply of energy in country presently. Therefore, to meet this challenge, energy conservation is an effective and applicable idea. It is the main responsibility to utilize this energy resource efficiently by adopting energy efficient gadgets at houses, industry and other production units in nasty manner.
