Great game changer China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a flagship and most actively  implemented project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)  where Pakistan and China  have quite successfully  launched  as many as 56 projects in different sectors all over the country.

Out of these projects, 26 projects worth approximately  US $ 17 billion have been completed so far and  another 30 projects  worth about US $ 8 billion are under construction and in different stages of their completion..

Pakistan government is taking  due benefit from the country’s strategic location and has accordingly focused on developing an efficient and well-integrated transport and communication system by connecting  remote regions of the country into One Road One Asia chain.

With the help of CPEC, according to the information available from the official sources concerned, roads and railways  infrastructure will integrate Pakistan with the regional  countries which will help in generating and accelerating  economic and business activities by connecting its markets with Central Asia, the Middle East and onwards to other parts of the world.

It may be mentioned here that presently Pakistan has 48 national highways, motorways and strategic roads with total length of 14,480 kilometers.

During first quarter of 2022, national airlines PIA has added two airbuses !320 fleets  whereas Pakistan Railways  comprised  a total of 5=466 locomotives for its 7791 kilometer route length all over the country.
