Diamer Basha Dam Project is being pursued vigorously with a massive build-up of machinery and plants at site, as the Water Resources Federal Minister and WAPDA Chairman pushed the mobilization. Water Resources Federal Minister Muhammad Faisal Vawda has presided over a meeting at WAPDA Complex for Mega Hydel Projects to review Implementation Plan of strategically important Diamer Basha Dam Project. WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd), WAPDA Member (Water) and General Manager (Diamer Basha Dam Project) Amir Bashir Chaudhry, and representatives of the Consultants and the Contractors joined the meeting. Diamer Basha Dam Project is rolling well despite the fact that Covid-19 Epidemic, that has slowed down routine life throughout the world over. The activities on this remarkable project have been continuing at a good pace that reflects the commitment of the obligatory Government for construction of mega dams to prevent imminent water crisis in the country and add low-cost hydel electricity to the National Grid. Discussing the implementation plan in meeting, he further spoke that Federal Minister has directed the Project authorities, the Consultants and the Contractors to observe the timelines quantified in the plan, so that the project may complete on time. He also briefed about the major signposts of the Implementation Plan. He added that the works for infrastructure development in the project area is being carried out at a good pace. The Chairman said that WAPDA is committed to completing Diamer Basha Dam Project in accordance with the stipulated time frame.
